Holy Indifference

Will I recognize it
when it comes?
So long (my whole life?)
I’ve desired it
despite my holding on,
hedging my bets.

Oh, for that moment
unitive desire holds
beyond the dualisms
my insecurity idolizes,
the false gods
turned ash in my mouth.

Oh, for that no time
phoenix risen
beyond desire,
beyond words on my lips,
beyond letters on a page,
beyond even beyond…
Holy indifference.
