Euphemism everywhere

In the parking lot
south of UPEI, is a crown
Victoria, on crown land
marketing Canadian
monarchy, a queen’s
legacy made American
automobile prestige.
Tea party politics
forgotten, for euphemism
heaven, an accord
also parked there
vaguely calls forward
Meech lake, Quebec’s
stake in a Canada clause
gives pause to other
names car makers
might mark our parking
lots with: personally,
I’d like to drive
a Referendum, and surely
a Mulroney would burn
less gas than a Lincoln.
